Babajimi Benson, the representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, at his Constituency Office in lkorodu,
During the visit, which had the presence of several notable party members, including Bldr. Olusesan Daini, former Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA; former Majority Leader Hon. Balikis Aderoju Ibrahim; SLG Niyi Odugbese; Hon. Basirat Babatunde; Comrade Adekoya Tunde; Ikorodu North’s Women Leaders; Prince Abiodun Banjo and Mr. Babatunde Olowu, Builder Banjo spoke glowingly about Rep. Benson’s unwavering support and contributions to the success of his administration through out his eight years in office, as well as his exemplary leadership and impactful representation for the teeming people of lkorodu division since his emergence in 2015.

The event also featured the unveiling and presentation of a book, titled, ‘ We know He Cares’, to Rep. Benson.
The book, which was written by Builder Banjo’s team, chronicles Rep. Benson’s remarkable achievements in his law profession and in his impactful representation, particularly in the areas of project facilitation and his impact on his people.

The former council boss, who, through the special visit, celebrated Rep. Benson’s humility, transformative leadership, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Ikorodu North LCDA under his watch and entire lkorodu Division as a whole, presented a symbolic framework titled, ‘By Their Hands, We Rose’, to the Federal lawmaker, in acknowledgment of impactful contributions to good governance and his enduring impact on the lives of the people.
Builder Banjo, in his address, which was a reflection of his deep admiration and gratitude for Rep Benson, described him as a leader whose presence feels like prophecy, and a son of Ikorodu whose service has redefined governance as an act of stewardship, not self-interest.
He praised the lawmaker’s quiet yet impactful style, noting that Rep. Benson has consistently prioritized people-oriented projects from road rehabilitation and empowerment schemes to educational and healthcare interventions, that have changed the face of Ikorodu Division.
“Today, I stand before you not as one who speaks of power, but as one who has been privileged to witness its purest form — service. Leadership, in its truest form, is measured not by authority, but by compassion and conviction.
He did not wear Ikorodu like a cloak; he bore her like a calling. He lit lamps where our paths had forgotten light, gave our elders bread and dignity, and answered the broken tar of our roads with smoothness and purpose.
“He brought governance down from the clouds and made it sit among the people at their tables, in their markets, and in their weary sighs”.

The former lkorodu North LCDA chairman, while describing Rep. Benson’s leadership as a movement born out of compassion and vision, noted that his name has become a symbol of hope across Isiwu, Imota, Ijede, and Baiyeku.
He also creatively captured the performing representative’s attributes in an acronym, describing him as “Extremely Resilient, Extra Resourceful, Efficiently Responsible, Enduringly Rooted, Earnestly Responsive, and Ethically Respected”.
According to him, Rep Benson, in his representation, is not chasing credit but impact, adding that through his exemplary representation, Ikorodu has seen that leadership is not about applause, but accountability — not about privilege, but purpose.
While presenting the symbolic frame to his august host, Builder Banjo emphasized that the commemorative gift is more than a token of appreciation, but also a declaration of gratitude for his enduring legacy.
“This is not merely a decoration, it is a declaration that we recognize the hands that helped us rise. Thank you for showing us that service is still sacred and that greatness is still possible.”
One of members of the former Chairman’s team, Mr. Babatunde Olowu, unveiling the book, ‘ We Know He Cares, writing by the team, presented to Rep. Benson, linked the book to what he called the ‘Spirit of ER’ which he described as the initiative celebrating excellence and resilience in leadership, and which he said Rep. Benson embodied.
He disclosed that Hon. Benson would soon be unveiled as the Face of ‘ER Nigeria’, at a forthcoming national celebration, which will feature the launch of the book written in his honour, and a performance of the newly revised Asiwaju’s Anthem in honour of President Bola Tinubu.
Meanwhile, Rep. Benson, who was conspicuously impressed and overwhelmed with the honour accorded him by Builder Banjo, through the visit, described the gesture as a surprise, humbling and motivating.
He also commended the former Chairman’s leadership and friendship, while pledging his continued support and commitment to the people of lkorodu division.
” This came as a surprise. I only did what I believed was right for my people. When Banjo came on board, I supported him because I saw capacity. Despite political differences, he has remained a brother, and together, we will keep serving lkorodu”.
The event was rounded off with a brief photograph session which involved Rep. Benson, Builder Banjo, members of his team and other dignitaries.
