Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Ogunneye launches “Movement” to cater for the poor

Baale of Idafa Odoguloye, Chief Jokotex Ogunbiyi Ogunneye, has floated a humanitarian movement to care for the vulnerable people in the society.

The young, promising and budding politician contested for the Chairmanship seat in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area in the last Local Council elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lost to the incumbent in the primary election.

But before losing out on the Chairmanship ticket, Prince Adedoyin had already established himself as a serious contender for the coveted position through his powerful scientific campaign, which gave his aspiration a wider acceptance and also attracted the attention of people of Ikorodu North, who now see him as a potential chairman of the council in the nearest future.

The launching of the movement, known as ‘Prince Adedoyin Jokotex (PAJ) Movement’, was held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Jokotex Hotel located opposite Lucky Fibre, lkorodu.

The event was attended by scores of members of the Prince Adedoyin Jokotex political group and several political leaders in Ikorodu North, notably among who were Hon. Adekunle Ogunbela, pioneer Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, and Alhaji Hakeem Bakrin, an American based politician.

In his address before the official launching of the Movement, Prince Adedoyin said that he was establishing the Movement to show his compassionate side and give back to the society, particularly to the vulnerable people in Ikorodu North.

“We thank God that election has come and gone and we are not losers because our party won at the end of the day. Irrespective of what had happened, we have been able to send a powerful message about our potential to bring good governance to the good people of Ikorodu North.”

“Now that electioneering period has gone, it’s now time for me to show my compassionate side. That’s why l am collapsing my political group into the formation of the Prince Adedoyin Jokotex (PAJ) Movement.”

“The Movement is a socio-political group that will focus on rendering humanitarian services to the people, particularly the less privileged in our society”.

He said that the operations of the Movement will take off in Ikorodu North and later extend to other parts of Ikorodu division and Lagos State.

While stating that he had previously organised several health outreach programs across Ikorodu division through his health company, Prince Adedoyin said that he would once again use the Movement’s platform to facilitate various health programmes for the benefit of the people.

He also mentioned other activities of the Movement to include sports, education, empowerment, employability, among others.

The thorough Environmental and Public Health Professional and Consultant turned-politician, who said that his political aspiration is still very much alive, promised to come back stronger to achieve his aspiration.

He also urged members of his Movement to forget about politics for the time being, close ranks and extend olive branches to others in the community and beyond in order to bring more people into the fold of the Movement.

He further urged them not to be discouraged by what happened during last Council election and re-dedicate and re-commit themselves to the Movement and work together in unity to achieve the set objectives and goals, stating that their performances will be reappraised after one year to know if they are working in tandem with the philosophy of the Movement, tagged, ‘We Care For Humanity’.

Prince Adedoyin also thanked Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon. Adekunle Ogunbela and Alhaji Hakeem Bakrin for supporting and identifying with the Movement.

Also, Hon. Ogunbela commended Prince Adedoyin for sparing a thought for the vulnerable people in the society with the establishment of the Movement and urged members to work selflessly in making the Movement a success, while Alhaji Bakrin briefly mentored members on how to use the Movement to effectively assist their symbol (Prince Adedoyin) to achieve his political ambition.

In his own brief remarks, Hon. Saheed Adebamawo, the General Overseer of PAJ Movement, urged members to extend care to those in their respective vicinity as a way of preaching the philosophy of the Movement.

He also said that the Movement looks forward to tapping from the wealth of experience and ideas of both Hon. Ogunbela and Alhaji Bakrin to take it to greater heights.

The executive members of the Movement were later presented certificate of appointment by Hon. Ogunbela.

The list of the Movement’s exco members includes: Mr. Amusa Adesina, Director General; Mr. Saheed Adebamowo, General Overseer; Mr Adeyemi Habeeb  Adesanya,  General Secretary; Mr Taiwo Jamiu, Deputy Director General; Mr Oni Deborah, Assistant  General Secretary; Mrs. Bolaji Bukola, Walfare Director; Mr Amusa Oriyomi, Youth Leader; Mrs Modupe Makide – Woman leader

Also, the food items donated to the Movement by Senator Tokunbo Abiru as Salah gifts were distributed to the members at the event.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ogunbela, while speaking with Oriwu Sun, described Prince Adedoyin as one of the few potential sons that Ikorodu North intends to showcase in the near future.

“Adedoyin is one of the few potentials in Ikorodu North, who we intend to showcase in the near future. He’s full of positive energies and ideas capable of changing our political naratives for good if given the opportunity to thrive.

“I am here to support him because l know that he’s an institution. He’s dogged in his attitude and very focused and straightforward.”

“I have no doubt about what he can do and l believe that the Movement he’s launching today will help in no small measure to put life into his political ambition such that within a short period, he will be up there”.

On the outcome of his aspiration in the last Council election, Hon. Ogunbela advised Prince Adedoyin to build on the experience and come back stronger to achieve his ambition while also expressing confidence in his potential to succeed in politics.

Also speaking with Oriwu Sun, Alhaji Bakrin described Prince Adedoyin as the toast of Ikorodu North politics and that he’s different from the ruffians parading themselves as politicians.

He stated that development is currently at the lowest ebb in Ikorodu North and that the council needs a well-educated, exposed and focused young man like Prince Adedoyin to drive the desired change.

While describing Prince Adedoyin Jokotex Movement as a movement for the future, he expressed confidence in the members to achieve set objectives and goals and also urged them to remain steadfast and committed as the Movement takes shape.

Mr. Amusa Adesina, Director-General, Prince Adedoyin Jokotex Movement, also speaking briefly with our reporters, assured that they will use the platform to effectively assist their symbol in achieving his political ambitions.
