Oba Rilwan Akiolu’s explosive speech

I want to thank God for everyone who is here today and I also want to thank the Governor for all that  he has set out to do today.

I also want to congratulate the people of Langbasa, Eti-Osa and Badore. If we take a look at the plan that Alhaji Lateef Jakande left behind, there should be three roads leading to this place, one from Elegushi to Olomu. But I want the governor to ask the people what went wrong.

People that built their houses on Elegushi road should demolish them and I want the people of Ajah, Langbasa and Badore to unite and listen to their leaders or Obas. Our dear Governor, primary health care Centre is very essential in this area because the population is becoming very high.

There was another road that was to be constructed from cooperative and the Villa but it was not done well. I am sure that the government would still address the issue of this road. I urge the government to hold the people responsible for the construction of that road.

The Minister of Health was at Iga (palace)  recently but I told him that the primary health care had nothing to do with the federal government, but that they could assist by making resources available and handing it over to the state.

The Governor has given his word that any market place in Lagos should be fenced round and I have been monitoring that project but I have not seen actions yet. If the market places are fenced round, it would be easy for the government to know the number of shops and counters there.

Let us all be united and avoid disagreements. I urge everyone to unite with their Oloyes and Obas. On the aspect of rice importation, I would have been at Kebbi State but I wasn’t able to go because the foreigner that was meant to accompany me was unavailable. But I told the foreigner that I would like to have distributors at Eti-Osa and Badagry. I suggest that a cooperative society should be created.

The Governor has pleaded with us to pay our taxes and I, Oba Osuolale Aremu between 2008 and 2015 had paid the sum of one hundred and fifty million (150,000,000) as my tax and some other dues.

I want to build an abattoir and I have made this known to the Governor. I pray that he would assist me.
