It is often said that one good turn deserves another. This saying is true for the new Oba of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali, who in reciprocity of the support given to him by Ikorodu monarch decided to pay a thank you visit to Oba Shotobi last year with his chiefs.
HRM Oba Shotobi is acknowledged to have played an important role in the ascension process to the throne by the new Adeboruwa of Igbogbo who paid several visits to the Ayangbure for consultation before his coronation.
Having settled down after his November 29, 2017 coronation celebration, the Igbogbo monarch decided to pay a thank you visit to Ikorodu with all his traditional chiefs/Erelus.
Trust Oba Shotobi who knows how to show hospitality, he rolled out the best for his guests.
It is difficult to estimate how much the Ayangbure spent on entertainment of his guests as he stationed a permanent caterer (Abitop) regarded as the best in the vicinity because of the quality and aroma of her food.
Traditional chiefs from the two kingdoms prayed for the two Kabiyesis and their domains and offered words of wisdom to the traditional monarchs.
Similarly, the two Obas prayed for their communities and people and pledged their determination to work together for the progress of Ikorodu division.
For more than two hours that the visit lasted, it was appreciation galore from both sides, warm greetings, messages and comments after which the guests were treated to a luncheon.
