Oba Shotobi angry, blasts Ilo family from Balogun dynasty over Chief Noah installation

For the first time since His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi ascended the throne, traditional chiefs, Osugbos, Erelus and other traditional members of the royal court trembles as the Kabiyesi bared his red eyes in anger over the Balogun of Ikorodu matter.

Recently at his palace while listening to the petition from the head of Balogun Ilo family, the monarch, for the first time was provoked as the man spoke what the kabiyesi considered a travesty of tradition. It was reported that, immediately the Ilo family who are part of the Balogun dynasty signaled their intention to bring compliant before Kabiyesi, some palace court sensed trouble. Leader of the Balogun Ilo family Dayo and his delegates had come to tell the kabiyesi that Ikorodu had appointed a new Balogun and they were at the palace to get Kabiyesi’s blessings.

In the presence of Olisa of Ikorodu who is the second in command to the kabiyesi and other high ranking chiefs, Oba Shotobi furiously reacted in anger and rose from his throne and started lashing the Ilo family head. Oba Shotobi questioned the intention of this family head, asking if he wanted to create confusion or foment trouble in the Kingdom since the recognized Balogun of Ikorodu, Chief Mukaila Onabanjo (aka Miky Miky) was present right there in the meeting. The Ayangburen who confirmed that Chief Mukaila Onabanjo was officially presented by the Balogun dynasty including the head of Balogun Ilo and other family members before he (Miky Miky) was installed as Balogun of Ikorodu. His Majesty wondered what the Ilo family intend to achieve by this provoking compliant and unscrupulous request.

The Kabiyesi reminded the spectators on how Chief Onabanjo was chosen for the Balogun chieftaincy title three years ago after court judgment. He wondered why anyone who had a contrary view or is aggrieved in any way would not go to court again instead of wanting to disrupt or destroying the peace and harmony in Ikorodu Kingdom. Some of the chiefs at the venue who felt the Oba was right with his decision urged tougher action. The Kabiyesi later ordered the Ilo family head and his delegation to leave the palace, as Onabanjo’s supporters cheered the outcome of the palace hearing.
